Pacifier

This quirky comical movie is a family drama about a US marine seal whose next assignment is to babysit a family who the government believes houses GHOST, a computer programme.

It has a tried and tested, run out of the mill Home Alone kind of feel to it. That not withstanding, the film pleases with it’s twists. A lullaby for the youngest one in the family turns out to be a password. And of course the movie ends happily, with Vin Disel decidedly the bad guy turned good father.

A altogether very family film which runs on a old but nonetheless side-splitting formula.

M. Night Shyamalan

I see dead people

” I see dead people,” whispers Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment) , a secret he shares with child psychologist Malcolm Crowe (Bruce Willis) . In his third offering to date, M Night Shyamalan packs a blow-out punch with a film that not only suspenseful but also tugs at the heartstrings.

The movie begins in Malcolm’s bedroom, where a patient from the past shoots him and then pulls the trigger on himself. His relationship start to sour with after that. He then tries to help Cole , whose troubles are haunting similar to the patient who shot him.

But the main star of the show is Cole. Scenes with his mother(Toni Collette) are heart breaking beautiful. With his big emotive eyes he makes a performance worthy of remeberance. While Malcolm tries to help him, he actually helps Malcolm to realise that the one thing that will blow everything away in an amazingly crafted ending, where finally, the pieces fit together.

I watched the movie 6 years too late. But being late is better than never watching it. Go watch. Now.

Prey and predator

Some books are borrowed to be read and mulled upon. This one is definitely not it. Ah well, I have the Power of one for that.
